Loris De Paoli, RMT, operating through Westwood Total Health, is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal and health information. This policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia and other applicable legislation.

• Insurance information and billing records
• ICBC claim numbers and related documentation where applicable
• Appointment history and scheduling preferences

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the purposes of providing registered massage therapy services, including:

• Assessing and treating your condition safely and effectively
• Communicating appointment details and follow-up care
• Processing insurance or ICBC billing on your behalf
• Maintaining accurate and complete clinical records as required by the College of Massage Therapists of BC (CMTBC)

Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:

• With your explicit written consent
• To insurance providers or ICBC for the purpose of processing your claims
• As required by law or regulatory bodies (e.g., CMTBC, BCRMT)
• In an emergency where disclosure is necessary to protect your health or safety

Online Booking

Appointments are booked through Jane, a secure, PIPEDA-compliant practice management platform. Information submitted through Jane is encrypted and stored in accordance with their privacy policy. We encourage you to review Jane's privacy policy at jane.app/privacy.

Retention of Records

Clinical records are retained for a minimum of 10 years following the last treatment date, or 10 years after a minor patient turns 19, in accordance with CMTBC guidelines. Records are stored securely and access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal health information upon written request
• Request corrections to inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent for certain uses of your information (subject to legal or regulatory requirements)
• File a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Paper records are stored securely on-site, and electronic records are protected by password access and encryption.
